Community Services Advisory Council (CSAC)

Health Services for Children with Special Needs, Inc. (HSCSN/NET) us constantly looking for innovative ways to expand its capability to provide services to its special needs population. We are looking for those in the community who want to make a difference on behalf of children with special needs, their families, and their communities to help us.
Community Services Advisory Council (CSAC) is a special advisory arm serving HSCSN/NET to provide advice on methods to improve health care services for children and youth that have disabilities and/or complex medical and psycho/social needs.
Members of CSAC include HSCSN/NET members and caregivers, providers, community advocates, representatives of HSCSN/NET and private, non-profit organizations and various DC government agencies.
We invite you to join us on CSAC to promote our mutual interest in our most valuable resource - our special needs children and youth.
MISSION
CSAC advises HSCSN/NET on methods to improve and enhance our program's capability to actively and proactively improve health care services to children and youth with special needs, their families, their communities and related services.
GOALS
- Identify unmet or under-served health needs of DC's children and youth with special needs
- Recommend innovative actions or programs for HSCSN/NET to implement
- Recommend enhancements of family-centered, culturally, competent, holistic health services for DC's special needs children and youth
- Recommend community organizations, agencies, or programs that could be resources for HSCSN/NET's utilization in achieving its mission
- Assist in strengthening community partnerships
- Assist in strengthening the DC community's access to information about HSCSN/NET.
